Overview
Biotal AR 3000 BW is an advanced eco-benign® acid replacement developed for the management and removal of scale in marine black water sanitation systems. It is designed to dissolve inorganic scale deposits within toilets, vacuum pipework and holding tanks, even whilst the vessel remains in normal operation.
Formulated to deliver performance comparable to traditional mineral acids, AR 3000 BW provides an effective alternative to sulphamic acid sachets without the need for aggressive, highly corrosive chemistry. The product can be used routinely to help prevent scale build-up or periodically to remediate existing deposits.
Suitable for manual dosing via toilet systems or direct introduction into black water pipework, AR 3000 BW enables practical, in-service descaling programmes that reduce downtime and avoid the disruption and safety considerations associated with dry dock acid treatments.
Benefits
Provides equivalent performance to sulphamic acid powders
Removes and prevents black water scale without aggressive mineral acids
Supports safer onboard handling compared with strong mineral acids
Can be used during normal vessel operation, avoiding dry dock descaling
Offers effective descaling even in the presence of oil and grease contamination

Our products are designed for environmental responsibility
Eco-benign® formulations
Designed to perform effectively while breaking down to natural biomaterials that are biodegradable in treatment systems and the environment.
Reduced reliance on aggressive chemistry
Replaces or reduces the need for corrosive mineral acids, solvents and caustic treatments traditionally used on board.
Lower environmental impact by design
Formulated to avoid the environmental hazard classifications associated with traditional acids and heavy chemistry.
Gentler on marine environments
Focuses on biodegradation and controlled breakdown of waste, rather than simply lowering oil levels without regard for wider toxicity
