Overview
Biotal MDS-PAK 3000 is a specialist biological formulation designed to start and maintain marine sewage treatment plants and improve performance in holding tank systems.
The product contains a synergistic blend of proprietary bacteria strains selected specifically for the degradation of organic wastes commonly found in shipboard sewage systems. These include human waste, paper, fats, oils and grease, as well as detergents and other contaminants.
When used as part of a regular programme, MDS-PAK 3000 promotes the presence of an active and resilient biomass, helping sewage treatment systems operate consistently and efficiently, even under variable loading conditions.
The bacteria strains are effective across a wide range of pH levels, temperatures and oxygen conditions, and have been shown to continue degrading waste even in the presence of low levels of bleach.
Benefits
Supports faster start-up and recovery after system upset
Maintains optimal biological activity within sewage treatment systems
Reduces odours from drains, toilets and holding tanks
Breaks down sludge, fats, oils and organic waste effectively
Improves system resilience to chemical and hydraulic shock loads
Reduces need for manual cleaning and chemical treatments

Our products are designed for environmental responsibility
Eco-benign® formulations
Designed to perform effectively while breaking down to natural biomaterials that are biodegradable in treatment systems and the environment.
Reduced reliance on aggressive chemistry
Replaces or reduces the need for corrosive mineral acids, solvents and caustic treatments traditionally used on board.
Lower environmental impact by design
Formulated to avoid the environmental hazard classifications associated with traditional acids and heavy chemistry.
Gentler on marine environments
Focuses on biodegradation and controlled breakdown of waste, rather than simply lowering oil levels without regard for wider toxicity
